SMTP

  • Go to Configuration->Network->SMTP

The SMTP menu allows the configuring of email settings in order to send emails when an alarm is triggered. Below is a screenshot of the email settings screen:

Explanation

  • Email shortcuts: Gmail, Outlook, QQ etc. mail has default values; the user click on the logo to fill out the SMTP server, Authentication, Port etc. Parameters with the default value. The user can select Other to use another mail settings.

  • SMTP Server: SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. This field allows the user to enter the SMTP server used by the email service.

  • Authentication: This dropdown box allows the user to select an encryption type. There are two types of email encryption protocols that are available.

  • SSL: Secure Socket Layer

  • Port: This field allows the user to enter the port that corresponds to the selected SMTP server.

  • Username: This checkbox allows the user to enter the username for the SMTP server.

  • Password: This field allows the user to enter the password associated with the SMTP username.

  • Sender: This field allows the user to enter the sender’s name. This name will be used to be the sender name. It better use the camera’s name, thus it can be easily noted which camera was sent the mail.

  • Recipients: This field allows the user to enter the receiver email address. These email addresses are the ones that will receive any emails pertaining to alert and alarm emails sent by the camera. Up to 3 email addresses can be entered in this field.

  • Test: This button allows the system to send out an email to test the connection. Prior to the email test, please save the email setup information.

  • Restore Default: Restore the values to default setting.

  • Refresh: Refresh the display of the settings’ value.

  • Save: Save the settings.
